169. Brownies

I admit: I love the package brownie mix. It's easy, and it tastes good.
I have used them time and again, such as in the brownie bottom cheesecake and in the immodest brownies.
But at some point, one must at least try to make brownies from scratch.
This is the recipe to try.
It's easy, and its good. I liked it. I even added some walnuts to spruce it up, but it was already good on its own.
Verdict on making your own brownies? Not bad at all!
Adapted from Scientifically Sweet.

Ingredients:

150g bittersweet chocolate chips
6 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 large egg
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Butter and flour a square baking dish.

Combine chocolate and butter, melt in a microwave or in a bowl over steaming hot water until smooth.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.
Beat the eggs and sugar on high speed until light and thick, about 3 to 5 minutes.
Beat in the vanilla extract.
Stir in the cooled chocolate mixture with a rubber spatula.
Add the flour and salt, folding gently until well combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.

Bake for 20 minutes, until slightly puffed but still moist in the center.
Transfer the pan to a wire rack and cool completely before cutting into squares.
