Few desserts qualify as impressive, delicious, fast, and easy at the same time. This near-instant dessert is dinner-party quality, and leaves room for personal preferences.
What it is is basically frozen berries with a steaming-hot white chocolate sauce poured over them. Now this is where the preferences enter: you could really use any frozen fruit you like, but berries are ideal because of their small size (so they won't stay frozen for long) and their tangy nature (in contrast with the rich and sweet chocolate sauce). Some finely grated lemon zest in the sauce would make a very nice touch. Even within the realm of berries you have a choice: mixed berries make for the nicest presentation, but you can also used a single kind of frozen berry. My favorite is plain raspberry, followed closely by blueberry.
This dessert must be served immediately.
Ingredients:
450g frozen berries
200g white chocolate
1 cup liquid whipping cream
Method:
Take the berries out of the freezer and arrange them in a single layer in a dish or plate that has a small lip (so that the sauce doesn’t drip off later).
Put the heavy cream in a small saucepan, and heat it until just about to come to a boil, but not actually boiling.
Take the pan off the heat and add the white chocolate, then swirl the pan about so that it is all submerged. Swirl your white chocolate pan about every now and again to help the chocolate melt into the cream.
Using a whisker, gently stir the chocolate-cream mixture, still off the heat, until it’s smooth, then pour it over the berries and serve immediately.

ReplyDeleteThank you, I highly recommend trying it!
ReplyDeleteUkhti can I use fresh berries instead or only frozen are suitable for this recipe?
ReplyDeleteI think you can but it risks being too runny. If you have a hard time finding frozen berries you can simply freeze fresh ones! Saha and afia in sha Allah.
