908. M&M Oreo Bars

These candy bars surprised me at how good they were. A brown sugar batter is enriched with added M&M's and chopped oreos. The batter does not have any leavening agent, such as baking powder or baking soda, resulting in a slightly dense and moist.
Very fast to bring together, the most difficult thing is setting the baked product aside untouched to cool for one hour.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
1 large egg, room temperature
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup quartered oreos (8 oreo cookies)
1 cup M&M's
extra M&M's to garnish

Method:

Preheat oven to 350F.
Live an 8 by 8 inch pan with foil, then spray with oil or butter and set aside.
Whisk the melted butter, egg, brown sugar, and vanilla until fluffy and pale.
Stir in the flour and salt until just incorporated.
Stir in the chopped oreo and M&Ms until evenly distributed.
Spread the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle with a few extra M&M's.
Bake for 20-22 minutes, remove, and let cool in the pan at room temperature for 1 hour before slicing and serving.
