977. Literally Biscuit Crumb Torte

Taking advantage of modern conveniences seems to be how I roll these day. A cheesecake made from a packet of sandwich bread a few posts ago, and now a torte made from a packet of tea biscuit crumbs.
This is essentially a cake, but because it is a thin round cake glazed with a chocolate ganache, I suppose then it becomes a torte.

Ingredients:

For the torte:
3 cups tea biscuit crumbs (from 400g box)
5 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup oil
1/3 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla

For the frosting:
1/2 cup thickened cream
130g milk chocolate
malteasers balls

 Method:

Preheat oven to 350F.
Whisk all the cake ingredients together until combined.
Pour in a buttered and floured torte tin (with a removable bottom makes life easier) and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove torte from the oven, let rest 10 minutes before overturning onto the serving place; set aside to cool completely.
When the torte has completely cooled, warm the thickened cream and the milk chocolate together until melted and homogeneous.
Pour the chocolate ganache over the surface of the torte to frost.
Decorate with malteasers balls, allow the frosting to set for an hour or two, then serve.
