1202. Flax Pizza

This is a pizza which uses whole wheat flour plus ground flax seeds in the dough. If pizza is a rare treat in your household, it might not be worth looking for a healthified dough recipe. If however pizza is a constant request, this version might start to look appealing.
All the usual topping still apply: tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and whatever else you want. The recipe addresses the pizza dough. In fact, we like this dough recipe so much we make small flat bread rounds of it to store in the freezer for daily consumption.

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp honey
1 ½ cup warm water
1 Tbsp yeast
3 cups semi-whole wheat flour
3/4 cup ground flaxseeds
1 tsp salt
Plus: desired toppings.

Method:

In a beaker, whisk together the honey, water, and yeast; set aside.
In a food processor, put the flour, ground flaxseed, and salt.
As the machine is running, pour in the yeast mixture.
Process until a lump of dough is formed.
Form the dough into a ball, coat with a tablespoon of oil, put in a bowl and cover for about an hour or until almost doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 425F. Divide the dough in half and form two pizza bases.
Bake each pizza base for 12 minutes. Remove, add desired toppings, and bake again for 10-15 minutes, to desired doneness.
