1257. Green Almonds & Salt

The only way I knew green almonds could be consumed was as a pickle. However, with the internet bringing everyone and their cat closer to each other, I recently discovered that fresh green almonds sprinkled with salt is seemingly a rather popular munch in the Middle Eat and Mediterranean.
The entire pod is edible, although the green furry sweater might be a bit too bitter for some so they peel it an consume only the gelatinous capsule inside. I find that the pod, halved, and dipped lightly in salt completely transforms the experience from eating it without salt. But why stop there? Some dip it in sugar, and uses besides pickling include tossing it sliced into a salad.
