1304. {Air Fryer} Um Ali

It is no secret by now that stale croissants make for amazing Um Ali. Simplifying it further, I took out my handy clay pot and air fryer for the ultimate smaller-portion, quick-fix Um Ali. The architecture of the air fryer ensures an out-of-this-world crispy surface and a perfectly soft interior.
You don't need me to tell you just how customizable the recipe is. Almost endlessly so. You can go the plainest of routes as we did: croissants and sweet milk, or go crazy in layering in flavors and texture. Examples include: nuts, dried fruit, chocolate chips, saffron, cardamom, rosewater/orange blossom...

Ingredients:

4 stale croissants
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cups cream
1/4 cup sweet condensed milk

Method:

Cut the croissants into bite-sized cubes. Put them in your heat-proof bowl that fits snugly into the air fryer.
In a saucepan, combine the milk, cream, and sweet condensed milk until just steaming. Pour over the croissants.
Set aside about 20 minutes to allow absorption.
Cook uncovered in the air fryer at 180C for 20 minutes.
