1455. Peanut Butter French Toast

So French toast has proven itself to be a weekend favorite. Hence, it was inevitable to play around with variations. This peanut butter and jam version renders it unnecessary to have any toppings, since they are in rather than on the finished product.
Peanut butter and raspberry jam are just a classic combination. Feel free to swap for your favorites (nutella for example).

Ingredients: serves 2

4 slices of toast
2 Tbsp peanut butter
1 Tbsp jam
1 egg
1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
butter for the pan

Method:

Make two peanut putter and jam sandwiches using four slices of toast.
In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg, sugar, milk, and vanilla until combined.
Melt the butter in a pan set over medium heat. When the butter is melted and just sizzling, dip the sandwiches in the egg mixture on both sides, drain briefly from excess and cook in the pan. Flip when golden after about 2 minutes, and cook 1 minute more on the other side.
Serve warm.
