1464. Filo Feta Cigars

There is nothing to deny in this cheesy, crispy, easy, and quick appetizer. In fact, it would be difficult to not eat a plateful. Salty feta is smoothed over with an egg and brightened up with dried mint before being cocooned in delicate olive oil fragranced filo pastry sheets and baked to a crispy golden perfection.

Best Of MCW 601-700

Time for another Best of MCW compilation. This part of the series has some truly bold flavors, highlighting diversity and creativity in cuisine.

1462. Mini Carrot Cakes

Several years ago I posted a  European recipe for carrot cake here. This was the carrot cake I grew up eating, and not the cream cheese frosted American concoction. In fact, it was one of my mother's favorite cakes to make once in a while at home. There is no frosting, but the glaze is warmed up apricot jam brushed on the cake, making it divine.

1461. Tomato Omelette

I like to post egg recipes on Thursdays. It sets an optimistic tone for the weekend, wouldn't you agree? As a bonus, most of these weekend breakfast egg recipes are 5 ingredients or less.

1460. Cheesy Chicken Patties

Like nuggets, but cheesier and lemony-er. These breaded chicken patties can be used from cooked chicken you may already have, or you can buy a rotisserie chicken just to make it (we did). The extra hit of lemon and salt is further enhanced by adding grated lemon zest in the batter.

1459. Laban Dressed Fattouche

MCW already boasts a fattouche recipe or three. You see, once you have the basic components down (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, etc), it becomes all about the dressing. There is the basic most traditional dressing of lemon and olive oil. Then I came up with the best-ever, gold-standard, and boldly perfect fattouche using pomegranate molasses in the dressing, and now we find another (albeit untraditional) version using butter milk, or laban drink, in the dressing.

1458. Parmesan Corn Cob

I always get excited when I see fresh corn in the market, but to be completely honest, the frozen corn cobs are so much more seamless to eat, am I right? But resist them, I could not, and here they are in their full garlic-parmesan glory.

1457. Date Bread

This "bread" is the depiction of Arabian hospitality and generosity. Laden with saffron, dates, and rosewater, it blows the flour-and-water type of bread out of the park. The surprise doesn't have to end there.

1456. Quick Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti

This shrimp spaghetti is a quick meal ready to be made to serve one as it can be to serve a family. All the essential flavors are there: pasta, garlic, shrimp, parmesan, and of course, the creamy sauce.

1455. Peanut Butter French Toast

So French toast has proven itself to be a weekend favorite. Hence, it was inevitable to play around with variations. This peanut butter and jam version renders it unnecessary to have any toppings, since they are in rather than on the finished product.

1454. Garlic Mint Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

We've got a great cabbage roll recipe on MCW here, but what's wrong with a little variation? This is a classic levant way of mixing lemon juice with plenty of garlic and dry mint then pouring it over the semi-cooked cabbage rolls.

1453. Loaded Chocolate Chunk Cookies

You know how American movies glorify eating raw cookie dough? Well, I was never into that. But these cookies are barely baked to what I expect is similar to that, but with the benefit of being safe to consume and absolutely loaded with melted chocolate.

1452. Iraqi Scrambled Eggs and Dates

I have heard for years and years how this Iraqi date-egg scramble was a revered part of many Iraqis' childhood, but strangely enough it was never a part of mine. I decided to give it a go and give little humans a taste of Iraqi culture that was foreign even to me. The result?
