This simple cheesy meat roll recipe packs a big punch of flavor from the use of sweet soy sauce. It is quite simply carpaccio-thin beef rashers rolled around rods of gouda cheese, marinated in sweet soy sauce and seared.
Ingredients:
carpaccio-think beef brisket
gouda cheese
sweet soy sauce
salt
oil, to sear
Method:
Cut the gouda cheese to finger width and the length of the rasher's width. Roll one beef rasher around a gouda rod. Drizzle with sweet soy sauce and turn to coat. Marinate for at least an hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
Heat oil in a pan and sear the rolls from all sides. They will not take long to cook through as the beef is very thin. Sprinkle lightly with salt just before serving.
