1835. Egyptian Rice Muamar


Egyptian rice muamar is of course using Egyptian short gran rice, but what makes it truly special is the all the components are baked in a clay pot. The other thing that makes it special, are the components themselves.
This is not a light or diet dish, at all. Rich in cream and meat, it's go big or go home here.




Ingredients:

1 cup greek yogurt
1 cup short grain rice
3 cups milk
500g cooked meat chunks
salt and pepper
1 Tbsp beef broth powder
dash of nutmeg
1 cup thick cream ashta
50g butter




Method:

Preheat oven to 350F.
Brush the inside of the clay pot with the greek yogurt.
To the pot, add the rice, milk, cooked meat, salt and pepper, broth powder, and nutmeg. Stir gently to distribute. Add the thick cream in teasoons all over the surface. Fincally, add the sliced butter.
Bake for 90 minutes until the water has been absorbed and the crust starts to turn golden.
