Happily living on bread and cheese might be a bit of a stretch in reality, but indulging once is a while conveniently falls under the category of "why not?". This single-serve plate is not just any bread and cheese. The individual components are so exquisite in their own right, that they absolutely sung when brought together.
The bread is an artisan sourdough. The cheese? The creamiest and freshest burrata: a fresh mozzarella bag filled with Italian thick cream. The sides were paper-thin slices of bresola and a small handful of fragrant local cherry tomatoes, drizzled with an unctuous balsamic glaze. The tomatoes and burrata are generously further drizzled with piquant extra virgin olive oil and a sprinkle of flaked sea salt. Do not eat this on the go; this is meant to be enjoyed with undivided attention.
Ingredients: serves one
sourdough bread slices
burrata cheese
bresola beef slices
cherry tomatoes
balsamic vinegar glaze
extra virgin olive oil
sea salt
Method:
Lightly toast the sourdough slices and put on one side of the plate.
In the center of the plate, put the burrata, then cut into it to expose the creamy interior.
On the other side of the plate, arrange the bresola beef slices.
In the remaining space, put the halved cherry tomatoes. Drizzle the tomatoes with the balsamic glaze.
Drizzle the burrata and tomatoes with the extra virgin olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt.
Serve immediately.
