737. Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies

Sometimes, you just need a cookie. Different moods call for different cookies. Caramel-y? Alfajores. Crunchy? Pistachio biscotti. Healthy? Oatmeal Raisin. Nutty? Gazelle horns. Iraqi? Kleicha. Chocolate-y? Kinder all the way. Spicy? Mushrooms and Zmitsterne. Elegant? Macarons. Sugary? Palmiers.
And the list goes on. So this cookie kills two moods in one cookie: nutty and chocolatey (in addition to chewy, crumbly, and gooey).

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 egg
1 egg yolk
250g milk chocolate
1 cup hazelnuts, halved

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350F.
Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt. Put aside.
Cream together the butter and the two sugars.
Add the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk to the creamed sugars, keep mixing till well-creamed.
Add the flour mixture, stir in the milk chocolate pieces and the halved hazelnuts.
Shape into patties (20 medium-sized), well-spaced on a baking tray.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, allow to cool 5 minutes on the tray before removing.
Best served warm, good cold too.
