1635. One pot Fresh Tomato and Green Olive Pasta

This is a quick one-pot meal that can be considered wholesome if you pick the right kind of pasta. Only whole ingredients are going in, with the tomatoes and onion grated to make the healthiest sauce which the pasta is cooked in.

1634. PB Honey Power Balls

There was once a little girl who noticed her mother was feeling a little under the weather. She remembered that she had read about how honeybees must travel to more the two million flowers to make just half a kilo of honey. She also remembered reading about the numerous nutritional benefits of honey, and the reading assignment even shared a recipe for a healthy snack sure to invigorate anybody.

1633. Eggs and Beans on Pita

This is a filling breakfast inspired from the Iraqi thareed bagilla, just simplified. Toasted pita bread is generously spread with processed cream cheese from a jar, and topped off with boiled broad beans (may come from a can and reheated) chopped onion and scrambled eggs. The freshly chopped green chili is optional for some heat.

1632. Quick Puffed Spanokopita

Spanokopita is a famous Greek pastry with spinach and cheese. It has multiple interpretations, the most authentic of which uses filo pastry. In this modern and ultra-fast version, you can use a sheet of store-bought puff pastry or shortcrust (I have made it to excellent results with either).

1631. Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake

This is a project type of cake. In the sense that, be ready for a multi-step-multi-dish, and multi-day preparation. You also need a thermometer for the caramel, unless you use ready-made caramel. The result? A decadent six-layer chocolate cake with caramel filling and unctuous chocolate frosting. Just be sure to take the cake out of the refrigerator and bring to room temperature before serving.

1630. Bone Broth

This may not be the prettiest post, but it is a valuable one. Due to circumstances out of our control, our health is increasingly becoming a matter of importance, and blessed is he who wises up to take preventative measures before he is forced to take curative ones. Bone broth is a miracle drink that can boost health in a multitude of ways.

1629. Asparagus Brie Puffs

Puff pastry is just the handiest ingredients to have stocked up. It makes for easy and delicious recipes, both sweet and savory. Making your own is surprisingly easy, but of course nothing beats modern convenience where we've got it readily available frozen or refrigerated, already rolled and set to go.

1628. Peanut Butter Oat Balls

With a black coffee first thing in the morning, these peanut butter oat balls are a feel-good way to start your day. Loaded with hidden nutrients, they taste more of a treat than a service for your health.

1627. Onion Relish Pickle

A couple years ago I attended a Qatari cuisine pop-up which I think I covered in a blog post here on MCW. Anyway, two things that stood out to me in that pop-up was the quinoa stuffed vineleaves and the onion relish pickle. Finally by complete happenstance, I came across the recipe and here it is for all to enjoy.

1626. Lemon Shortbread

There exist many versions of shortbread cookies in different cultures. In the Arab states, we have ghoraiba, South Americans have a peanut shortbread cookie. The UK probably wins the blandest yest most classical version of plain shortbread (butter, sugar, flour). This is a spruced up version of the British classic, using lemon zest in the mix.

1625. Tomato Feta Danish Pastry

Danish pastry is know as those sweet fruit or custard derived pastries presented at every hotel buffet breakfast. Well, they may also come in savory form, and be enjoyed outside the realm that breakfast dictates.

1624. North Sedra Farm Visit

MCW readers have previously given me positive feedback about sharing an occasional trip on the platform, so here is another farm visit for your viewing pleasure. To be honest, I did not think of the blog one single time when we were there, so most of these photos are cropped from original ones, hence the resolution may not be the best.
