472. Reader Recipe Pictures II

One of the reasons I started this blog was to document my recipes for myself and my loved ones.
Reader feedback and appreciation has been a phenomenal plus that is almost overwhelming.
Dr. B, a PhD living in Canada is a scientist by day and culinary adventuress by night.
The fact that she makes time to try and make new things is inspiring.
Dr. B was kind enough to take the time to send me photos of the recipes she has made from MCW.
If you've got picture you want to share, send them over to maryamcw(at)yahoo(dot)com.
Here are some photos of recipes she has re-created from MCW.

471. Salami and Marinated Feta Foccacia Sandwich

Lately, pressed sandwiches are my favorite thing to look forward to in the day.
Paired with the perfect bread, they are unbeatable.

Marinated feta cheese is a criminally easy thing to make, yielding unbelievably huge rewards.

468. Nutella Oreo Cheesecake Parfaits

Here is the truth right from the beginning: this dessert looks better than it tastes.
That's not to say it isn't good. It is, but just not as good as you would imagine by looking at it.
It looks like it's a classy and elegant dessert for grown-ups.
In reality, it's a sugar bomb favored by kids.

Sweet, salty, crunchy, crumbly, dense, and jammy are all wonderful characteristics of this bake.
A peanut butter lover's dream, for sure.

463. Cornflakes Chicken Strips

We all know the drill for breaded and fried goods: flour, egg, breadcrumbs, fry.
What makes these chicken strips so special is that they don't use flour or eggs at all!

Four ingredients, 10 minutes of hands-on time, and no-bake are what it takes to make this surprisingly classy and incredibly decadent dessert.

460. Greek Roast Chicken

Though labeled Greek, I originally wanted to categorize this roasted chicken as Moroccan due to the use of preserved limes.

459. Smashed Potatoes

Smashed potatoes are rustic little round potatoes, boiled, slightly smashed, seasoned, then roasted to get a crispy golden border and jacket.

458. Skinny Chocolate Peanut Gelato

I am hesitant in applying the word healthy to a recipe, because more often than not, the correlation is usually a negative one. Healthy food is sometimes and wrongfully assumed as boring and tasteless.
Not so, and the proof is in the pudding... or in this case, in the ice cream.

456. Kebab/Kofta Halabi with Roasted Tomato

Even within the Arab nations, there is some confusion as to what a kebab is and what a kofta is. Kofta, not used by all, is always a minced meat sort of patty, be it longitudinal or circular. Kebabs however are sometimes used interchangeably with kofta, but really they denote skewered chunks of meat.

455. Iraqi Lamb Fat Rice

This is an "oldies" recipe, meaning one that was made by our grandmothers and theirs. I actually picked it up from my brother-in-law, who has been teaching me a wealth of recipes.

454. Pomegranate Eton Dessert

Okay, this is my version of the famous British dessert named Eton Mess. Except that I don't find it particularly appealing to eat something labeled as a mess, so I Arab-ized the dessert and also replaced the term mess with dessert.

452. Basic Meringues

I remember as a child wondering how meringues and whipped cream look exactly the same and yet they couldn't be more different.
