1854. Oregano Oil Remedy

I probably should have posted this a while ago but I wanted to see if it works, and glory be to Allah, does it work! Oregano oil turned out to be this miraculous anti-viral, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory natural powerful remedy few people know of.

Best of MCW (1701-1800)

Welcome to the 18th installment of the Best Of series for MCW, where for every 100 recipes posted, I do a round up of the absolute hits we loved and ended up making over and over again. Sandwiches and sides take center stage here, but the six main dishes are each something I would be happy to have on a weekly basis. I do tend to organize my round-ups as if I was walking through a day chronologically, meaning we start at breakfast options, then explore snacking ideas, before tackling main meals and moving on to dessert as the end. Today, in honor of our brotherhood with Palestine, we start the segment with a simple Palestinian spread, consisting of crispy zaatar bread, lemony brined olives, and tangy lebna drenched on olive oil.

1795. Caesar Salad Dressing

Caesar salad is always something we order when out, but rarely make at home, despite its simplicity. The classic caesar salad is composed of lettuce, croutons, that special dressing, and shaved parmesan. Making it at home allows us to customize it as desired.

Palestine's Food Heritage

Re-sharing my three compilations of Palestinian and Palestinian-inspired recipes to contribute in a small way to keeping the heritage alive.
Always remember and teach your children: Jerusalem is Muslim. Palestine lives. Israel does not exist. Allah is most great.

Best of MCW (1601-1700)

Welcome to the 17th installment of the Best Of series for MCW. Breakfast takes the spotlight in this edition, with almost half the features belonging to this meal category. If you share our mentality that breakfast is even more delicious as dinner, you've got a pretty repertoire of all-day alimentation choices. Although admittedly an omnivore, I do love my homemade almond milk and the pancakes from the resulting pulp. I have never tasted a better almond milk than this one, and innovating a delicious way to use the pulp makes it a waste-free meal.

Panda House, Qatar

We visited the Panda House up in the north of Qatar and it was a wonderful experience to share. The two pandas, Soraya and Suhail, are a gift from the government of China to the government of Qatar, and the facility they are hosted in is excellently well kept and visitor friendly.

Best of MCW 1501-1600

Welcome to the 16th installment of the Best Of series for MCW. The Arab influence is strong in this edition, from the seemingly mundane date dipped in fresh cream, boiled potato salad, and the cosy cup of milk tea, to the elaborate zaatar mutabbag, and zubaidi mutabbag.

Welcome to the 15th Best Of MCW installment where we have a veritable mish-mash of cuisines, foods, and styles. We travel all over the world form the Levant with those special dressed zaatar maneeshes, to Europe with Italian inspired salads, to Mexico with some tacos and churros.

Inspiration is Kaput: Need Your Suggestions

I am very proud of what MCW has become over 10 years. There is a treasure's worth of recipes archived and I consider myself one of the biggest users of the blog. Every time I want to make something, I'd open the blog and make it straight from there. Now I find myself in somewhat of an inspiration rut. Give me your suggestions in the comment section below of what you would like to see on MCW.

1624. North Sedra Farm Visit

MCW readers have previously given me positive feedback about sharing an occasional trip on the platform, so here is another farm visit for your viewing pleasure. To be honest, I did not think of the blog one single time when we were there, so most of these photos are cropped from original ones, hence the resolution may not be the best.

Best of MCW 1301-1400

The braided brioche loaf and the dalgona coffee are dead giveaways that quarantine started during this compilation. How strange it is that a picture can evoke such strong memories of the event or occasion it was taken in.

Best of MCW 1201-1300

Welcome to the 13th Best of MCW installment, gathering the best recipes from a one hundred-recipe range on this blog that are time tested and made over and over again.
Kicking off with a simple pleasure of life, this fragrant sage tea recipe was picked up over a decade ago, when a Palestinian colleague prepared me my first cup in the pantry of our internship program. She used dried sage leaves, which is the norm. Palestinian sage, procured through Jordan, is the best you could get a hold of.

1577. Heenat Salma Farm Visit

We took a few hours to visit Heenat Salma farm for their date harvest event, and it was a wonderful experience. Due to the intense heat this time of year in Qatar, the event commences at 4pm, where we are invited for a date-filled afternoon tea.

Best Of MCW 1001-1100

It's been too long since the last Best Of MCW compilation. This compilation, just like its predecessors, takes us trotting around the globe from Iraq to the Levant, Egypt, Europe, Mexico, Bazil, and around again to India.
