Strawberries and cream are an English treat gone global. These dates and cream deserve as much attention as their strawberry counterparts. Our fresh cream here is a thick, scoopable variety, not too different from the British clotted cream. It is an absolute treat on its own, but it the experience is definitely heightened when served alongside some freshly brewed Arabic coffee. The best dates to serve this is the rutab variety, freshly ripe, conveniently in season right now. However, some dried dates will also work.
Ingredients:
ripe dates
fresh cream (thick)
Arabic coffee, to serve.
Method:
Serve the dates and the cream in separate bowls, allowing the person to dip and scoop as desired.
Serve alongside some freshly brewed Arabic coffee.
