1576. Loaded Breakfast Oats


For some reason, January seems to be the month I most consume oats. But no more, because oats are a great source of nutrition all year round. This recipe is basically porridge oats, topped with a variety of deliciousness, making you almost excited to get up in the morning.
You can either have all the components ready, and all you do is spoon them over your hot porridge, or you can cook your berry compote just before serving, which is way less intimidating than it sounds: simply simmer in a saucepan some fresh or frozen berries with a touch of water until broken down. Alternatively, blast them in the microwave for a similar effect.


Ingredients: serves one

1/3 cup oats
2/3 cup water
2 Tbsp greek yogurt
1 Tbsp berry compote
2 tsp almond butter
1 tsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp honey



Method:

Stir the oats and the water together and either cook stove top on in the microwave until thickened to porridge consistency.
Scrape the cooked oats in a serving bowl and top with all the toppings: greek yogurt, berry compote, almond butter, chia seeds, and drizzle in the honey.
Serve immediately.
