1578. Rutab Date Smoothie

As mentioned in the last post during our visit to the Heenat Salma farm for their date harvest festival event, we requested the recipe for the delicious date smoothies presented during the afternoon tea and Chef Mark kindly gave us a private cooking demonstration. 
Obviously, the farm's version was made with camel milk, which is a rich a creamy type of milk with unusual health benefits (camel milk reduced blood glucose just like an insulin shot does to diabetics, but without the shot, subhan Allah!). At home, we could use the regular milk we have at hand, but maybe with an added splash of cream to give that luxury touch.


Ingredients:

750g deseeded ripe rutab dates
3 cups of milk
2 cups ice cubes
cinnamon powder, to finish


Method:

In a high-powered blender, blend the deseeded rutab, ice cubes, and milk until thick, creamy, and homogenous. Monitor the smoothie thickness but adding more milk or lessening the amount.
Pour into serving glasses and sprinkle lightly with cinnamon powder. Serve immediately.
