1624. North Sedra Farm Visit

MCW readers have previously given me positive feedback about sharing an occasional trip on the platform, so here is another farm visit for your viewing pleasure. To be honest, I did not think of the blog one single time when we were there, so most of these photos are cropped from original ones, hence the resolution may not be the best.
North Sedra farm is located almost at the very top of Qatar, and takes a good one hour to get there by highway. What attracted us initially was the strawberry picking, but we are huge animal fans, so the variety of animals to feed and interact with there is a huge attractor.

The farm is more of a park-slash-zoo. There is a minimal entry fee, and you buy coupons for all the activities the offer. I saw many families brought their own picnics, khaliji-style, with giant pots of biryani, but there are multiple food outlets from a traditional Qatari cuisine restaurant, to a grilled meat kiosk. There is an ice cream truck, and a karak trolly, and much more.

The available activities include: bottle feeding fish, milk bottle feeding bay goats and sheet, grass feeding the horse, llamas (!), gazelles, deer, zebra, and goats, pony riding, and fruit/vegetable picking (availability depending on the season).

I cannot handle those baby noses or the flapping giant ears.

Tortoise escape plan caught in action.

Qatar's non-official national animal.

No filter needed.

We were lucky to enjoy the day just before the sudden rainstorm that happened the very next day. In the end, it is a farm, so do leave the sandals, heels, and exotic leather bags at home and expect to get dirty!
