Caprese is an Italian salad composed of fresh mozarella slices, lovely summer tomato slices, and vibrant basil leaves layered and drizzled with balsamic vinegar. The skewer version is a party catering classic.
They are usually accompanied by a balsamic glaze, but Italy doesn't hold a candle next to the Iraqi pomegranate molasses. So pomegranate molasses it is!
Ingredients:
cherry tomatoes
mini mozzarella balls
whole basil leaves
pomegranate molasses
Method:
If the cherry tomatoes are on the large side, halve them.
Skewer the tomato, whole basil leave, and mozzarella balls on a toothpick.
Arrange on a platter and drizzle with pomegranate molasses just before serving.
