Apparently in Germany, Chive Open Faced Sanwiches exist, and they're called Schnittlauchbrot. All you need is fresh bread, soft butter, and chopped chives. Since I had all three, I gave it a go, and it was delicious.
The toast is spread with salted butter, then pressed butter-side down into a plate of chopped chives. For a complete breakfast, this toast goes great with scrambled eggs.
Ingredients:
sourdough bread
salted butter
chopped chives
Method:
Place the chopped chives in a plate.
Butter the toast, and then press butter-side down into the plate of chopped chives to coat.
Serve immediately.
