1700. Iraqi Indian Pani Puri

I have been passing by the aisle of pani puris my entire life without a second look, until someone recently introduced me to proper pani puris, and I almost immediately invented this Iraqi-Indian fusion.
Bite-sized puris are fried and inflate to hollow ping pong balls, filled with a minced meat filling typical to that of an Iraqi kubba, and the green mango spiced sauce that comes with the packet is drizzled just before popping on your mouth.

Ingredients:

For the filling:
300g minced meat
2 onions, chopped finely
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp alspice
1/2 tsp ground noomi
1 cup parsley, chopped

1 small packet of pani puri
(comes with masala sauce mix)

Method
:

To make the filling: saute the mince in a pan until browned, add the onion, salt, pepper, cinemon, alspice, and noomi. Keep cooking until onions are transparent and there is little to no liquid left.
Remove from heat, allow to cool slightly, stir in the parsley.
Fry the pani puris and make the sauce as per packet instructions.
To serve, crack a pani puri ball to allow for the meat filling. Drizzle the prepared sauce and immediately pop it whole in your mouth.

Thank you for maintaining your blog. I always check it for food inspiration. Can you make salted sticks? They were a staple when I grew up and now I can't find them

Thanks for your kind comment. Could you explain what salted sticks are?
