512. Pan Release Paste

Butter and flour the cake tin.
How many baking recipes call for this step? Such a minor detail, but so important... and potentially messy!

Buttery fingers, excess flour knocked out... any one who has tried it knows exactly what I am talking about.
Well, this home-made pan release is the best solution, adapted from iambaker.
You mix to obtain a paste:
1 1/2 cups flour 
1 cup oil 
1 cup shortening (I used ghee)
Refrigerate covered. To use, stick a pastry brush in it and brush your cake pan.
No buttery of floury mess ever again!
