708. Slow Cooker Chicken Sesame

This is a convenient meal made in the slow cooker that is just as good as take out.

Served with some rice (maybe some fried rice?), it makes for a satisfying meal.
It has a bit of a Chinese or Asian flare with the sesame and soy sauce, but I think it's one of those non-authentic creations that passes off as the real thing, like California sushi roll, which gets marketed as Japanese but was invented in California, USA.
Adapted from fits&fumbles.

Ingredients:

450g boneless/skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup honey
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp dried onion
1 Tbsp ketchup
1 Tbsp oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 2 Tbsp water
Sesame seeds

Method:

Cut chicken into bite-sized cubes and  put into crock pot slow cooker.
Combine honey, soy sauce, onion, ketchup, oil, and garlic. Pour over chicken.
Cook on low for 3-4 hours or on high 1 1/2 – 2 1/2 hours, or just until chicken is cooked through.
Remove chicken from crock pot, leave sauce.
Dissolve cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of water and pour into crock pot.
Stir to combine with sauce. Replace lid and cook sauce on high for ten more minutes or until slightly thickened.
Return chicken to crock pot - can leave chicken in and simmer on low or serve.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve over rice.
