Previously on MCW we've had a super food smoothie bowl, and an instant fruity vegan ice cream fit for breakfast. This breakfast bowl is a little bit of both. The reason why I say breakfast is because this much goodness is best eaten on an empty stomach for maximal absorption. It is however just a tasty as a snack or even for dessert.
If you have a high powered blender, you can use that, otherwise a loyal old food processor will do just as well. The fruit base is really up to you, as is the fruit topping. The recipe below is a good started option.
Ingredients: serves 2
2 sliced frozen bananas
1 cup frozen blackberries
2-3 Tbsp milk
Topping suggestions:
fresh sliced fruit
nuts
seeds
granola
honey
peanut butter
Method:
Put the frozen fruit in the bowl of your food processor and let it sit for about 5 minutes to slightly soften from its hard freeze. Meanwhile you can peel and slice your fruit topping. Add the couple tablespooms of milk to the frozen fruit and blend it until smooth, opening and scraping the sides once or twice.
Transfer into two bowls and top with your chosen accompaniments.
