1319. Dynamite Shrimp


I don't know about you, but dynamite shrimp, california rolls, and mongolian beef are permanent orders whenever to eat Asian out. With all that stir-frying, we tend to prefer ordering to cooking. However, once you discover just how simple recreating some of this dishes at home, you just might change your mind.
Classic to most Asian dishes, the shrimp are fried to a crisp before being coated in their mystic sauce. Mystery solved, the coating is little more than regular flour, and the sauce no more than seasoned mayo-ketchup mix. Adjust heat of chili as to audience (children) or preferred flavor palate.



Ingredients:

500g shrimp, peeled and cleaned
2 tsp chili sauce
salt and pepper
1 cup flour

For the sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tsp honey
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp powder garlic
chili sauce, to taste




Method:

Season the peeled and cleaned shrimp with salt, pepper, and the chili sauce. Mix well to coat.
Toss the seasoned shrimp in the flour to coat abundantly. Fry in hot oil until crispy and golden; set aside until just before serving.
To make the sauce ingredients, lightly whisk all the sauce ingredients to combine.
Just before serving, toss the fried shrimp in the ready sauce to coat.
Sprinkle with an optional dose of chopped spring onion.
