Best of MCW (101-200)

Welcome to the second installment of the Best of MCW (see part 1). This time we are covering tried and true recipes that stand out as the best of the best from the second hundred recipes posted. These are recipes made and requested time and time again.
We kick off with an Iraqi bread that is so much more than a bread. Iraqi Iroog Bread may almost be considered a meal in a bread since it's so full in both vegetables and meat. Great for breakfast or tea time, be sure to make this recipe in huge batches and freeze for intermittent future use.

I'd love to hear your feedback on these compilation posts. Much time and thought goes behind them so I would like to assess audience feedback for continuity. Comment below!

Pasta Salad: the best thing to make at a BBQ or potluck.
Cabbage Salad: did you hear cabbage is the new superfood of 2020? This lebanese salad makes it easy to consume raw.

Shrimp Club Salad: any salad with bread in it wins in my books.

Carrot Dill Soup: such an unexpected pairing yet so delicious.

Cream of Chicken Soup: one of the first soups I learned to make well, it deserves a medal for a go-to soup.

Meatball Tomato Soup: another essential soup for your repertoire.

Qatari Harees: Harees is also made in Iraq but we use barley grains. Qataris use wheatberry for a much more glutinous and melted texture.

Iraqi Bamia Stew: Scorching summer, or cruel winter, Iraqis will have their bamia

Iraqi Stuffed Baby Aubergines: It is a good day when these babies are on the menu.

Clams in a Pot: one-pot meal consisting of the ocean's plethora.

Delectable Chicken Curry: recipe handed down by my mother. Enough said.

My Mom's Magic Steak: the magic is in the sauce.

Dressed Roast Iraqi Fish: Essentially a tangy dressed masgoof.

Salmon in Fig Leaf: the fig leaf emits a coconutty scent as it roasts while flavoring the flesh with a delicate floral aroma.

Chelo Kebab: rarely will you find a delicious kebab seasoned simply with salt and pepper alone.

Kubba Halab. I dare you to stop at just one of these. If I could, I'd have these every. single. day.

Chicken Musakhan Cones. A classic Palestinian recipe, autrement.

Crusty Iraqi Rice: the ubiquitous accompaniment to any and all Iraqi Stews.

Spiced Saffron Rice. Spiced, but not overpowering, this is the perfect side to the delectable chicken curry above.

Spinach Quiche: with a soft spot for quiche, there was no leaving out this spinach version.

Iraqi Cardamom Cake. Bring our the istikans and make yourself and your guests steaming tea to accompany this simple yet amazing home cake.

Toffee Date Cake. Truly made time and time again. A classic loved by young and old alike.

Arabian Honeycomb Bread: the softest pillowy brioch-like bread emcasing rich cream chhese filling and slathered in saffron-infused sugar syrup. Save this for Ramadan.

Apple Chips: one ingredient, so much flavor. Be sure to consume almost immediately as the chips soften and lose their crisp upon standing.

Berry Terrine: a European rarity in this collection, it is a plethora of fresh berries suspended in gelatin.

Khoshaf. Classic for Ramadan, this is rich in re-hydrated dried fruits and nuts bathed in floral-scented apricot bath.

Rice Pudding. Sometimes, only the most basic simple original recipes will hit the spot.

Iraqi Date Madgooga. Oh the memories. Make these energy balls and store them in a cool dark place and they will last for months. Pop directly in your mouth or serve in a platter slathered in date molasses and tahini.

Gazelle Horns Cookies: so rich in almond and floral scents from rosewater and orange blossom. Quite labor-intensive but utterly lavish.

Pistachio Mafrooka: hugely popular to all who have tasted it, you can customize the filling with the original heavy cream ashta or use a liar ashta (sweetened milk thickened with bread).
