1508. BBQ Sausage Rolls

We all are familiar with the sausages rolled in puff pastry and baked into delicious finger food appetizers. I have an excellent Thai sweet chili version right here. This one however uses fresh minced meat, so no nitrates here.
Furthermore, some vegetables are sneaked in before the entire thing is hit with a dose of bbq sauce. The recipe was a success and went down well with kids and adults alike.

Ingredients:

500g beef mince
1 onion
1 carrot
2 cloves garlic
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 tsp dry thyme
1 egg
1/2 cup bbq sauce
1/2 tsp salt & pepper
2 puff pastry sheets

Method:

In a food processor, pulse the onion and carrot until fine.
Add it to the mince, along with the bbq sauce, grated garlic, egg, thyme, and salt/pepper.
Knead until combined.
Cut your pastry horizontally in half to get two wide strips from each.
Divide the meat mix into four and line each of the pastry strips with a portion.
Roll the pastry over the meat and crimp shut with a fork. Cut into two-bite sized portions.
Brush the top with extra egg wash, and sprinkle lightly with sesame seeds.
Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 30-35 minutes until golden.
