559. Microwaved Oat Porridge

Do you want to rev-up your metabolism in a comforting, satisfying, and in an anti-diet way?

Try breakfasting on oatmeal for a week, and you will see a difference.
It's delicious and nutritious, and although it reminds me of Jane Eyre, I can assure you it's much better than Lowood's.
Three tablespoons is all it takes. Got milk? Splash that on and give it a whirl in the microwave for a minute or two. You can flavor it with whatever you like. I had some peanut butter chips on hand. Regular chocolate chips or shards would do too. Any one of the following ideas would do:
(add those before cooking the oats): raisins, any dried fruit, cinnamon, any chopped nut...
(add those after the oat is cooked): honey, banana slices, fresh berries, any nut butter, nutella...
Your ideas are welcome in the comment box below.

Ingredients:

3 Tbsp oats
1 Tbsp chocolate chips
3/4 cup milk

Method:

Combine the oats, chocolate chips, and milk in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave on high for 90 to 120 seconds, depending on how thick you like your oatmeal.
Be careful it's hot!
