Pavlova is a favorite of ours at the MCW household. Although simple to make, it does take about 2 hours in the oven. This is a quick and easy way to get your pavlova fix almost immediately, using conveniently available ingredients from the store.
Namely: store-bought meringues. Just crush them up roughly, leaving large chunks, fold that up in some whipped cream, pour into your serving dish(es) and top with fresh berries.
Ingredients:
200g ready meringues
1 cup whipping cream
2 cups fresh berries
Method:
Whip the cream to a stiff peak.
Crush the ready meringues roughly, leaving some large broken pieces.
Fold the broken meringue into the whipped cream.
Pour the mixture into the serving dish or mini dishes and top with the fresh berries.
Serve immediately or refrigerate up to one hour only to preserve the meringue texture as much as possible.
