I have really grown a fondness for food trends on social media. Surprisingly, a larger proportion of the "hacks" or trends are successful and delicious. Then there are some repelling ones as well, such as the watermelon and mustard trend, but the ones I have tried have been mostly great. This burger taco is one such fantastic trend.
Plain minced meat is pressed flat on a tortilla, and seasoned plainly with salt and pepper. It is the seared, meat-side down until cooked, then flipped until toasted. The toppings then go one and it is served.
Ingredients:
8 mini tortillas
500g minced beef
salt and pepper
shredded iceberg lettuce
For the sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp of chopped pickles
2 Tbsp chopped onion
1 tsp of sugar
1/2 Tbsp white vinegar
1/2 Tbsp yellow mustard
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Method:
Make the sauce: mix all the sauce ingredients and set aside.
Make the burger tacos: divide the minced meat into 8 portions and press flat one portion on one tortilla, season plainly with salt and pepper. Sear in a hot pan, meat-side down until cooked, then flip until toasted. Top with the sauce and shredded lettuce, and serve.
