1363. Doritos Salad


This is a fun salad that can be served in an interactive serve-yourself style that can serve as a delicious ice-breaker when having people over. All components are presented in individual bowls, allowing each person to customize their own. Similarly, if serving family style, simply put all ingredients in your salad bowl and toss just before serving.
The actual salad components are all up to you. I personally opted for a lettuce-free salad, but any greens would work, as well as hearty vegetables conveniently shredded or chopped as required. The full suggested ingredient list is below in the recipe.


Ingredients:

For the salad:
Doritos chips packets
corn kernels
kidney beans
chopped coriander
sliced black olives
halved cherry tomatoes
shredded cheddar
jalapenos
shredded cabbage
shredded carrot

For the white dressing:
1/2 cup ranch dressing
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1 lemon
1/4 cup olive oil
salt and pepper

For the pink dressing:
1/2 cup french dressing
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1 lemon
1/4 cup olive oil
salt and pepper


Method:

Place all components in individual bowls, allowing each person to customize their own.
If serving family style, simply put all ingredients in your salad bowl and toss just before serving.
The chips are to be roughly crushed before incorporating in the salad.
To make the dressing, blend all ingredients together and serve in individual containers. You can use one or both dressings over the salad.
