There is this herb or delicate green in the Arabian countries that is a finer relative to spring onion green and leeks. It's definitely from the onion family, and when I search for the English translation for it, "khabbaz" translates to leek, which it definitely is not.
In any case, it is a superfood that was commonly on the dining table ready to compliment any meal, served with a side of flatbread, another old dining table staple. Taking a piece of bread and stuffing it with a wad of khabbaz is a delightful, ancient, and healthy appetizer.
