I already have an authentic Iraqi green bean stew recipe here on MCW, which is, quite frankly, unbeatable. But sometimes you just want an express hug-in-a-bowl with green bean stew flavors, cutting down on hours of, well, stewing, ground beef is the way to go.
Simmer time is the same time it takes to cook a pot of rice: 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp olive oil
300g ground beef
1 tsp 7 spice or allspice
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, grated
450g green beans
2 tomatoes, chopped
salt & pepper
Method:
Sear the meat and onion in the olive oil in a pot. Add the garlic and the spices, seasoning, and saute a minute more.
Add the tomato and green beans, toss and add water to just cover. Bring to a boil and simmer covered 15-20 minutes.
Serve with rice and fresh lemon.
