Eating whole foods has been made to be much more difficult than it really is. This quick shrimp broccoli saute is colorful and nutritious and will be ready faster than a meal can be delivered.
First the broccoli is lightly sauteed just to gain some sear marks yet it stays crunchy. It is set aside while the shrimp cooks with some garlic in the same pan. Add some soy sauce, a few drips of fish sauce to amp the umami, and you're set. Serve with some white steamed rice for a fully rounded meal.
Ingredients:
500g shrimp, peeled and cleaned
1 head broccoli
3 cloves garlic, grated
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tsp fish sauce
Method:
In a hot pan, lightly saute the broccoli florettes in some olive oil until some sear marks but still crunchy. Set the broccoli aside and in the same pan, add a bit more oil and saute the shrimp and garlic together until the shrimp is entire pink. Return the broccoli, add the soy sauce and fish sauce, and cover for 5 minutes or less. Serve with some steamed white rice and an optional sprinkle of sesame seeds.
